Sherri Betz continues with her series Frail to Fit with this workout for the older adult who wants to build bone density and have a challenging Mat class. She begins the class standing with strength training exercises that incorporate balance and leg strength, then moves onto traditional Mat exercises using props to enhance them. She ends the class with a meditation to balance out your cortisol and serotonin levels, which has been scientifically proven to improve bone density. You will need a dowel or broomstick, a barbell or box filled with weight such as soup cans, kettle bells or bags of sugar, a Theraband, a dog leash or Yoga strap, 2 water bottles or hand weights, a ball or large towel rolled, and a pillow.
